Novem needs to be planted in full sun in well-drained soil. It will tolerate most soil types and is drought resistant. Novem is a great choice for beds and borders and excellent as cut flowers. It is also a great butterfly and bee attractor and is disease resistant.

The Dianthus 'Firewitch'O, Dianthus gratianopolitanus, is a beautiful pink flower that can be somewhat lacey and fringed. With its grassy blue-gray foliage and profuse blooming time, 'Firewitch'O is one not to miss. Dianthus 'Firewitch'O has a plant spread of 6-8'Y and a height of 6'Y. Dianthus will bloom from mid summer to early fall. In order for a longer bloom time, deadhead the blooms continuously throughout the summer. Dianthus needs a sunny site with well-drained soil, but will tolerate some shade in the afternoon and humidity. These fragrant, spicy dove like flowers look wonderful as a border plant, rock gardens, along walks or paths, for edging and a definite in cottage gardens.

The Hosta 'Patriot'O, Hosta fortunei, has heart-shaped, glossy medium green leaves with a large white margin, making this variety very striking. The Hosta flowers bloom from July to August, however, Hosta'Os are not known only for their flowers. With a plant height of 22'Y and a spread of 36-48'Y, Hosta'Os provide bright color in shade with wonderful foliage. Hosta 'Patriot'O needs to be planted in a full shade area in any moist, well-drained area. Hosta 'Patriot'O was the American Hosta Growers'O Hosta of the Year in 1997, and one can see why. This low care perennial is ideal for shady positions, tubs and patio pots, and one of the most popular for landscape uses. A great choice for any beginner gardener.

The Iris 'Butter and Sugar'O, Iris siberica, has creamy white butter-yellow flowers with greenish yellow veins. Blooming from late spring into summer, it has a plant height of 28'Y and a spread of 18-24'Y. Iris 'Butter and Sugar'O is one of the most easily grown Iris'O. Iris 'Butter and Sugar'O prefers moist, well-drained soil in full sun, but will tolerate some afternoon shade. This Iris needs plenty of water throughout the season to continue to looks its best. The Salvia 'Plumosa'O, Salvia nemorosa, has glowing purple stems loaded with deep, double purple flowers that bloom from June to October. With its gray-green basal leaves and aromatic foliage, it makes an attractive accent all summer long. It has a plant height of 18'Y and a spread of 18-24'Y and stays in excellent compact form. Salvia 'Plumosa'O should be planted in full sun in a moist well-drained area. To increase bloom time, it should be cut back after the first bloom. 'Plumosa'O is a magnet for butterflies, bees and hummingbirds and is deer-resistant. It is hardy for container gardening and provides excellent cut flowers. Blooms look wonderful next to Sedum 'Matrona'O, Achillea 'Coronation Gold' and Saliva 'Snow Hill'O.
